LUCANIA. Herakleia. Circa 390-340 BC. Didrachm or Nomos (Silver, 23 mm, 7.74 g, 7 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing Corinthian helmet adorned with Skylla hurling a stone; before to right, Δ-K-Φ. Rev. KAΛ - [ՒHPAKΛHIΩN] Herakles strangling the Nemean lion; to left, club; between Herakles' legs, owl standing right. HN Italy 1377. SNG ANS 63 (same dies). Van Keuren 50. Work 38. A bright and particularly elegant coin. Extremely fine.
